Polysealant is designed to be used in trafficable  expansion and other joints car park decks, car wash areas, aircraft hangers, garages, chemical factories, plaza areas, terraces, warehouse  floors, power station, food processing units, pavements and other areas subject to foot and vehicular traffic Polysealant is NOT recommended for Areas of constant spillage from harsh    chemicals (strong acids )
Design  of joints for Polysealant should be a minimum of 5 times the total anticipated joint movement, Minimum joint width should be 4mm to allow for adequate cleaning and priming. Maximum   joint depth 15 mm and Minimum joint depth 10 mm. Depth/width ratio up to 15 mm should 1:1, Maximum joint width unlimited. Joints of 300mm + wide  have been successfully filled with Polysealant. A cover plate and/or support plate may be necessary depending upon traffic intensity and type.    
White Base :
Allows light architectural colures to be made without the addition of large amounts of fillers and pigments, thus retaining the benefits of high polymer content.
Low Modulus :
Polysealant is a low modulus sealant thereby Reducing bond line stresses during       extension and improving joint life.
Wide Movement Accommodation:
Polysealant is capable of continuous performance between plus  and minus 50% of the original installed joint width.
High Abrasion Resistance:
Formulated specifically for trafficable joints Polysealant exhibits a high shore A figure  whilst maintaining good flexibility.

Application should be in accordance with the BASA/CIRIA publication (Manual of Good Practice in Sealant Application).
Polysealant should not be applied at temperatures below 5 0 C unless special care is taken. (Consult POLYCOO Technical Services Department)
Joint interfaces must be clean, dry and free from substances likely to impair adhesion, Loose Friable material should be removed and arrases made good. It is recommended that grinding or sand blasting prior to priming should prepare joint faces. Or sand blasting prior to priming.
For applications to concrete, use one coat of POLYSEALANTPRIMER. Install Polysealant whilst 
primer is tacky. See can label for application  instructions.
Joint Backing
 An approved joint backing material must be installed prior to priming. This will:
Prevent adhesion to the bottom face of the joint pocket .
Provide a firm base for tooling the sealant
Control the depth of the sealant.
Approved types are : closed cell  polyethylene. 
It is essential that joint backing is installed at 25-30% compression to maintain location whilst sealant is applied. Tape together continuation end of joint backing when using Polysealant.
Polysealant should be mixed. Minimum mixing time is 8 minutes with a slow speed drill (300-500 r.p.m.)  and Polysealant approved paddle. Apply Polysealant from suitable spouted container allowing time for sealant to completely fill joint pocket to designed level. POLYCOO recommend 2 to 3mm below floor level. Allow sealant to get slightly before tooling to ensure continuous contact with the joint interfaces.
